I am a tired one tonight. It was a great weekend with our nephew Ben getting married and both girls arriving home at noon on Friday. The weather Saturday couldn't have been lovelier and being with family on such a day is really just right. I am sharing a sunset photo of the happy couple from their rehearsal dinner.
Besides the wedding we are in heavy work mode here at Soul in Ballard as now plans have changed and we are looking for a new full-time administrator as Sarah is pregnant with twins. We just put the word out today and we are hopeful that amazing people will apply to run this nonprofit that has grown to be such a strong force for our families. The rewards of working here are many and Sarah will attest to that fact. She will be missed but we have high hopes that her husband and twins will share her with us in the future. The job description is available with a quick email to firstname.lastname@example.org and will be up on Craig's list under nonprofit job listings on Wednesday. The hire date is projected to be September 1, 2010 and the closing date for applications is July 20Th. Sarah is just over half way through her pregnancy and of course I asked to photograph my girls with her and the twin tummy today.
Both Dawn and Susan have Soul shoots this week and still there is a stack of pending shoots on Sarah's desk. We slowly whittle through them when our clients feel well enough for a photo session.
We are very thankful for donations that are arriving from our newsletter. With the economic times the response is much slower than usual but I know that if we keep doing a great job for the families that we will stay solvent and able to serve each family with grace and talent. One of my best friends told me that she specifically donated after reading Jodi's article about her personal loss and her decision to be one of our valued photographers.
Already Kari is working hard to make sure our Artist Sale is a success again this year. We have most of the spots filled but we could accommodate a few more sellers. Please contact Kari at 206-297-0885 if you would like to request a review of your product. Since we have many great returning artists, Kari just has to be sure we are not overdoing it on any one craft or art item. The sale will again be the first weekend in December and its a great time for families of Soul to come together and we offer many wonderful products at very affordable prices.
In love and peace, Lynette
