After a lovely weekend spent with my dear friends and Soul moms, Joan and Sally, plus a great morning in which our beloved writer, Fred Moody joined us for breakfast, it is indeed sad to be the one to share another loss. Sadly we have lost another special friend.
Barry Simon passed away on Sunday at his home in Missoula in the arms of his dear mother. Barry was loved by many and you might recall the lovely story that Mona Locke presented about him and his love of mail. I had the pleasure of working with him at least 4 times as I would return to the hospital when his sisters arrived from out of state and for his birthday. I am proud that his mom and sisters have a complete set of photos and that I had the honor of getting to meet all of them. I send my love and my sympathy to them in Montana and will hold this wonderful boy in my heart. You can read the article about his last days in the Missoulian.
Tomorrow morning I meet with our grant writer Audrey and board member Randell to set a projected budget for 2008. The numbers will no doubt cause my heart to palpitate as the amount of requests keep increasing. I have to trust that if we do our best to honor the amazing families of Soulumination that financial support will follow.
I retreat to my art room now to try to find peace tonight as I start to work making wreaths for the Artist Sale. Thank you to all of you who have shared your hydrangeas, keep them coming please.
I close as always in love and peace and thinking about Barry and his amazing spirit. I salute Anna and Kurt for pulling off yet another wonderful shoot for Soulumination this weekend. I will later go to sleep holding hope for the dear preemie that I met last week at Children's and wishing her mom a birthday tomorrow that is peaceful, Lynette
